“SMART MANUFACTURING & SUSTAINABILITY LAB: A Collaborative Ecosystem for Europe’s Industrial Transformation”

A Shared European Journey Reaches Its Final Chapter

The third and final webinar of the Smart Manufacturing & Sustainability Lab series will take place on 27 November at 10:00, concluding the collaborative journey carried out by six European projects — RaRe², R3GROUP, Flex4Res, ACCURATE, AGILEHAND and CREDIT — all committed to shaping the next generation of smart and sustainable manufacturing ecosystems.

Over the past sessions, the initiative has explored cutting-edge technologies, discussed exploitation strategies, and examined barriers and opportunities across different industrial domains. Building on this shared foundation, the final event takes a step deeper into the role of sustainability within Europe’s evolving collaborative industrial landscape.

From Technology to Responsibility: Introducing Webinar 3

“THE SEARCH FOR SUSTAINABILITY WITHIN NEW COLLABORATIVE ECOSYSTEMS: People, Processes and Technologies for a Responsible Future”

This final session shifts the focus from technological innovation alone to a broader and more systemic perspective: how to embed sustainability and circular economy principles into future industrial ecosystems.

After addressing reconfigurability and collaboration models in previous webinars, this edition seeks to understand how people, processes, and technologies can evolve together toward more adaptive, resource-efficient and long-term–oriented manufacturing systems.

The webinar will unfold as an open dialogue among project representatives, researchers and industrial stakeholders, encouraging participants to exchange concrete experiences and perspectives through guided discussion questions.

What We Will Explore Together

The session will dive into what sustainability really means in practice within the smart manufacturing context, addressing questions such as:

  • What does “sustainability” mean for each project?
  • How can circular approaches be integrated into supply chains and production systems?
  • How is sustainability embedded in the project solutions developed so far?
  • In what ways can digital tools — such as AI, Digital Twins and Data Spaces — accelerate the transition toward sustainable manufacturing, beyond mere process optimization?
  • How can people be engaged to foster a culture of responsibility, awareness and collaboration?

These reflections aim to illuminate how the combination of human-centered innovation, enabling technologies and shared values can drive Europe toward a more responsible and resilient industrial future.

Join the Discussion

This final webinar offers a unique opportunity to reflect, connect insights, and define a shared and responsible vision for Europe’s industrial transformation.
Participants from RaRe², R3GROUP, Flex4Res, ACCURATE, AGILEHAND and CREDIT will bring their experiences to the table, contributing to a collective understanding of how sustainability can truly shape the future of smart manufacturing.
